Multinational Workshop Week 2011 Summary

Posted on April 4th, 2011 by Amy Lee

The first half of the week was dedicated to a research seminar that addressed “Civic Organizations Around the World.” Kettering Foundation was able to get a reading on the state of such organizations around the world from the seminar participants, as well as present some of its own research in context to their work. Most of the participants, who hailed from over a dozen countries, were new to Kettering, so it was also a chance for the foundation to expand the network. Further reflections will be coming in upcoming editions of FTC after staff has had a chance for reflection.

The second half of the week included sessions with “alumni” from previous Kettering workshops and former international fellows from other countries and Puerto Rico. At different points in the week, there were also planning meetings to address next steps in research being conducted in Cuba, Russia, and China.

Interview clips from some of these workshop participants should be available on Kettering’s website soon!
