Swaziland Institute for Mass Communication (SIMACOM) is an NGO dedicated to increasing literacy, media, and communication skills to improve the quality of life particularly for youth, women, the disabled, and rural citizens of Southern Africa.

Simacom seeks to assist in information development that helps rural communities identify common interests; map out information needs and sources; research solutions and develop action plans. Simacom’s focus is placed on:

•    Participatory communication for social change and development
•    A sense of ownership by the community
•    Supporting citizens’ or community structures
•    Horizontal, dialogic communication
•    Cultural appropriateness communication process rather than product

Simacom is part of the Southern African Media Trainers Network.
